— fill the blank.
💡 Hint:You hoped for one thing; the opposite happened.
V + どころか = "far from …, in fact the opposite". だけでなく adds in the same direction; 反面 is two sides of one thing.
— fill the blank.
💡 Hint:Which one attaches to the ます stem 知り?
どころか, 反面 and だけでなく don't attach to the ます stem.
— fill the blank.
💡 Hint:Note the 「も」 — both are good points.
も = "not only …, also …". 反面 and ながらも join opposites, not two good points.
— fill the blank.
💡 Hint:The good and bad side of one thing.
な-adj + な + 反面 = "…, but on the other side…". ばかりでなく adds in the same direction; どころか and ながらも don't attach to 便利な.
— fill the blank.
💡 Hint:There are two different people here.
一方で can set two different people or things side by side. 反面 is only for two sides of the same thing.
— fill the blank.
💡 Hint:"Young, and yet…" — not what you'd expect.
Adj + ながらも = "even though". どころか flips to the opposite, ばかりでなく adds; 一方だ ends a sentence.
Which sentence says "far from being thanked, I got scolded"?
💡 Hint:No thanks came at all — the opposite did.
どころか shows the exact opposite of what was expected. The other three all imply you were thanked too.
— fill the blank.
💡 Hint:Two good qualities, plus 「
も = "not only …, also …". 反面 pairs good with bad; ながらも needs the stem でき, not できる.
