〜ものか (~mono ka) — never! / as if!
Hot-blooded refusal — 'never!' muttered to yourself, 'as if!' thrown at a friend.
Formula (सूत्र ढाँचा)
Grammar rule (व्याकरण नियम र परिभाषा)
When to use it
You got terrible service at a restaurant and mutter on the way out: 「あんな店、二度と行くもんか」(that place — I'm never going back!).
Meaning
- 「〜ものか」= not just 'I won't', but an angry 'never, ever'.
- ① Your own resolve — 「負けるものか」(I won't lose), 「あきらめるものか」(I won't give up); mostly 独り言, something you say to yourself.
- ② Knocking down what someone just said — a friend says 「新しいバイト、楽そうだね」and you shoot back 「楽なもんか。 I'm on my feet all day) — 'no way!'.
How to attach
- As a thought: 「〜
- 「もんか」is even more casual (friends); women usually say 「ものですか・もんですか」.
Versus what you know
- N3「わけがない・はずがない」is the head reasoning 'it cannot be'; 「ものか」is an emotional refusal from the heart.
- N3「ものか」sounds even hotter than 「決して〜ない」.
Watch out
- Spoken language only — never in a report or a formal email.
- Don't use it with the 店長 or a customer — it shows anger.

That place? I'm never going back!

How it is built (कसरी बन्यो) 落ちる = to fail → we attach 「ものか」: 落ちるものか (I won't!) → 「と思って」 turns it into what I tell myself → then what I do because of it: 勉強している.
Easy? As if! I'm on my feet all day.
How it is built (कसरी बन्यो) 楽 = easy (な-adj) → we keep 「な」: 楽な → we attach 「もんか」 → it rejects a friend's 「楽そう」 → then the reason: 立ちっぱなし.
