When to use it

In writing such as police reports, investigation results and novels: 「彼が犯人に相違ない」(he must be the culprit).

Meaning

「〜に相違ない」= 'it must be so, no doubt' — a stiff, formal certainty based on grounds.

How to attach

Plain form + に相違ない: 伸びるに相違ない
Nouns and な-adjectives drop 「だ」, or take 「である」: 犯人に相違ない・故障であるに相違ない

Versus what you know

The three siblings: にきまっている = spoken, blunt, from the gut · に違いない = neutral, grounded, speech and writing · に相違ない = stiff, reports and writing only.
N3Same meaning as 「〜に違いない」, but 相違ない is stiffer and more written.

Watch out

Don't use it in casual chat — there, say 「に決まってる」or 「に違いない」.

How it is built (कसरी बन्यो) 犯人 = culprit (N) → drop 「だ」 and attach 「に相違ない」 directly = it must be him → the basis is in 「から見て」 in front: the state of the scene.

ちょうさのけっかから、じこのげんいんはせつびのこしょうであるにそういない。

Based on the investigation results, the cause of the accident must be an equipment failure.

How it is built (कसरी बन्यो) 故障 = breakdown (N) → instead of 「だ」, the written 「である」: 故障である → 「に相違ない」 → a firm certainty, as in a report.

この計画が成功すれば、会社の利益は大きく伸びるに相違ない。

このけいかくがせいこうすれば、かいしゃのりえきはおおきくのびるにそういない。

If this plan succeeds, the company's profits are certain to grow a lot.

How it is built (कसरी बन्यो) 伸びる = to grow (V辞書形) → attach 「に相違ない」 to the 辞書形 as it is = it will surely grow → the condition is in 〜ば in front: 成功すれば.
