Grammar rule (व्याकरण नियम र परिभाषा)
Meaning
「〜につれて」says that as one thing gradually changes, another changes with it: 「時間がたつにつれて、日本の生活に慣れた」= as time went by, I got used to life in Japan.
How to attach
- Both sides need words of change (たつ, 増える, 上がる).
- 「〜にしたがって」means the same, a little more formal.
Versus what you know
N3It resembles 「〜ば〜ほど」, but that is about degree (the more… the more), while this is gradual change over time.
Watch out
A deliberate action cannot follow.
