だから・そのため・したがって (dakara / sono tame / shitagatte) — therefore
Cause first, result next — four levels of "therefore".
Formula (सूत्र ढाँचा)
Grammar rule (व्याकरण नियम र परिभाषा)
Meaning
- The first sentence gives a cause, the next its result — and four words for "therefore" sit between them, by register: 「だから」(casual, with friends) → 「ですから」(polite speech) → 「そのため(に)」(written, notices) → 「したがって」(most formal, reports/law).
- The meaning is the same: 「台風が来る。そのため、店は休みだ」= a typhoon is coming. Therefore the shop is closed.
Versus what you know
N4These stand alone at the head of a sentence — unlike 「〜から」「〜ので」inside one.
