〜わけだ (~wake da) — that's why / no wonder
The moment the reason lands and you go "ah, that's why".
Formula (सूत्र ढाँचा)
Grammar rule (व्याकरण नियम र परिभाषा)
Meaning
- Once you learn why something is the way it is, 「〜わけだ」delivers the conclusion — "so that's why": 「10年日本にいるの?日本語が上手なわけだ」= ten years in Japan? No wonder your Japanese is good.
- It adds no new fact; it shows the conclusion that follows naturally from what you just heard.
How to attach
「〜というわけだ」is the same.
Versus what you know
N4Do not mix it up with 「〜はずだ」: はずだ = it ought to be (a guess, not yet confirmed), わけだ = so that's why (the reason is now known).
