〜ついでに (~tsuide ni) — while you're at it
Using the trip you're already making to get one more thing done.
Formula (सूत्र ढाँचा)
Grammar rule (व्याकरण नियम र परिभाषा)
When to use it
It is handy for requests too: 「出かけるついでに、これも買ってきて」.
Meaning
- When you are already doing one thing and take the chance to do another, use 「〜ついでに」: 「買い物のついでに、郵便局に寄った」= while I was out shopping, I dropped by the post office.
- The first action is the main one; the second just rides along.
How to attach
It attaches to a dictionary- or た-form verb, and to nouns with の.
Watch out
It does not work if both tasks matter equally.
