たとえ〜ても (tatoe ~te mo) — even if
Whatever happens, the decision stands — the pattern for resolve.
Formula (सूत्र ढाँचा)
Grammar rule (व्याकरण नियम र परिभाषा)
Meaning
- Adding 「たとえ」in front of the 「〜ても」you learned at N4 makes it much stronger: 「たとえ疲れても、バイトは休めない」= however tired I am, I can't take the day off.
- たとえ adds the sense of "even supposing", so what follows is usually a firm decision or determination.
- The sentence works without たとえ, but たとえ strengthens the feeling.

Verbs take て-form + も, い-adjectives 〜くても, and nouns and な-adjectives 〜でも.
