V plain form + の (V futsuukei + no) — Turning a verb into a noun
The basic trick: make a verb into a noun so it can take は・が・を.
Formula (सूत्र ढाँचा)
Grammar rule (व्याकरण नियम र परिभाषा)
Put 「の」after the plain form (普通形) of a verb and the verb starts working like a noun. Once it is a noun, particles like は・が・を can attach after it. Tense and negatives stay as they are — 食べるの, 食べたの, 食べないの are all fine. Careful: の never attaches to the ます form (×食べますの). With a な-adjective or a noun you need な in between — 好きなの, 学生なの. こと can often replace の, but with verbs of seeing and hearing like 見る・聞こえる・待つ, の is the natural choice.
