Grammar rule (व्याकरण नियम र परिभाषा)

To build the imperative of Group 1 (u-verbs), start from the ます form. After you drop ます, the last sound left is always an i-sound — き、み、ち、し. Change it to the e-sound of the same row — き→け、み→め、ち→て、し→せ. That is the whole job: nothing is added. 行きます → 行き → 行け. 読みます → 読み → 読め. 待ちます → 待ち → 待て. In the potential form (可能形) you added る after that same e-sound — 行ける; the imperative adds no る — 行け. Do not mix those two up.
