    いかなる〜 (ikanaru ~) — whatever ~ / any ~ at all

The formal どんな — contracts, rules and official statements: 'no exceptions'.

    Formula (सूत्र ढाँचा)

    いかなる + N + であれ、…
    いかなる + N + が + あろうと(も)、…
    いかなる + N + も/にも + …ない

    Grammar rule (व्याकरण नियम र परिभाषा)

    When to use it

    • Reading a phone contract or an apartment lease, you meet a sentence like: 「いかなる理由があろうとも、途中解約には違約金がかかります」— whatever the reason, cancelling midway costs a penalty.
    • It is the word of rules, contracts, government statements and the news.

    Meaning

    • 「いかなる」means 「どんな」, but very formal — it adds the hard edge 'no exceptions'.
    • It rarely stands alone — it pairs with this lesson's forms: 「いかなる N であれ」(point 3), 「いかなる N があろうとも」(point 1), or 「いかなる N も/にも + 〜ない」.

    How to attach

    「いかなる」+ N, with no 「の」in between: いかなる場合

    Versus what you know

N3Same meaning as 「どんな〜でも」, but 「いかなる」is much stiffer.

    Watch out

    • Don't confuse it with 「いかに」(how much / however) — that goes with adjectives and verbs, as in 「いかに大切か」; 「いかなる」always comes before a noun.
    • It isn't used in everyday talk — 「いかなる映画が好き?」to a friend sounds strange; there, 「どんな」is right.

    Examples (उदाहरणहरू)

    いかなる理由があろうとも、契約期間中の解約には違約金がかかります。

    いかなるりゆうがあろうとも、けいやくきかんちゅうのかいやくにはいやくきんがかかります。

Whatever the reason, canceling during the contract period incurs a penalty.

How it is built (कसरी बन्यो) いかなる = whatever, any → 理由 = reason (directly, without の) → 「があろうとも」 = even if there is (point 1) → then a rule with no exceptions: 違約金がかかります.

    いかなる場合も、パスワードを他人に教えないでください。

    いかなるばあいも、パスワードをたにんにおしえないでください。

Under no circumstances should you tell anyone your password.

How it is built (कसरी बन्यो) いかなる = any → 場合 = case → 「も」 = in any case at all → then the prohibition: 教えないでください.

    首相は、いかなる困難であれ国民と共に乗り越えると述べた。

    しゅしょうは、いかなるこんなんであれこくみんとともにのりこえるとのべた。

The prime minister said that whatever the hardship, it would be overcome together with the people.

How it is built (कसरी बन्यो) 首相 = prime minister → いかなる + 困難 (hardship) → 「であれ」 = whatever it is (point 3) → then the news statement: 乗り越えると述べた.

    Knowledge check (मिनी ज्ञान जाँच)

    Question: 1/3

    「___事情があろうとも、締め切りは延ばせません。」— fill the blank.

💡 Hint: The formal 'whatever' that sits straight before a noun.
