〜との見方を示した (~to no mikata o shimeshita) — expressed the view that ~
News that an official or expert has publicly given their judgement or forecast about a situation.
Formula (सूत्र ढाँचा)
Grammar rule (व्याकरण नियम र परिभाषा)
When to use it
- In economic news you hear: 「日銀の総裁は、景気は緩やかに回復しているとの見方を示した」— 'the Bank of Japan governor expressed the view that the economy is recovering moderately'.
- Price rises, the yen rate, the cause of an accident, the danger after an earthquake — in such news an expert's words usually come in this form.
Meaning
- 「見方」= a way of seeing, i.e. one's reading of a situation; 「との」is the 'that ~' you learned in L29.
- So the whole thing means: 'a named person told everyone their judgement that ~'.
How to attach
Attach 「との見方」to the plain form (続くとの見方・避けられないとの見方), and after a noun or な-adj keep 「だ」(ミスだとの見方).
Versus what you know
- The previous point's 「意向を示した」is about something the speaker wants to do (I will ~); 「との見方を示した」is a judgement about the world or a situation (~ is so, ~ will happen) — not the speaker's own will.
- 「〜とみられる」from L23 is also an estimate, but there you can't see who made it; here the speaker — 総裁, 専門家, 社長 — is named, and the reporter keeps a distance: 'this is their view, not ours'.
Watch out
The key rule: you need 「との」— 「回復するの見方」is wrong; and it is not for something the speaker will do themselves — use 「意向」for that.
Examples (उदाहरणहरू)
日銀の総裁は、景気は緩やかに回復しているとの見方を示した。
にちぎんのそうさいは、けいきはゆるやかにかいふくしているとのみかたをしめした。
The Bank of Japan governor expressed the view that the economy is recovering moderately.
How it is built (कसरी बन्यो) 日銀の総裁 = the Bank of Japan governor (a named speaker) → 回復している = is recovering (plain form) → 「との見方を示した」= gave the view that ~ → it's the governor's assessment, not the reporter's.
専門家は、事故の原因は人為的なミスだとの見方を示した。
せんもんかは、じこのげんいんはじんいてきなミスだとのみかたをしめした。
An expert expressed the view that the accident was caused by human error.
How it is built (कसरी बन्यो) 人為的なミス = human error (a noun) → we add 「だ」: ミスだ → 「との見方を示した」= the expert's view → not confirmed by the investigation.
社長は、円安による値上げは避けられないとの見方を示した。
しゃちょうは、えんやすによるねあげはさけられないとのみかたをしめした。
The president expressed the view that price rises due to the weak yen are unavoidable.
How it is built (कसरी बन्यो) 避けられない = can't be avoided (plain form) → we attach 「との見方を示した」 → not the president's wish, but an assessment of the market situation.
Knowledge check (मिनी ज्ञान जाँच)
「専門家は、景気の回復には時間がかかる__見方を示した。」— fill the blank.
💡 Hint: A view 'that ~'.
Plain form + との見方: かかるとの見方 = the view that it will take (time). 「の」alone is wrong (かかるの見方), and 「に」/「を」don't attach.
In which sentence is 「との見方を示した」unnatural?
💡 Hint: Something one will do oneself, or a judgement about a situation?
Resigning is one's own decision, not a view — say 「首相は、来月辞任する意向を示した」.
Which sentence makes it clear whose view it is?
💡 Hint: Which sentence names the speaker?
With との見方を示した the speaker (総裁) is named. With とみられる and とされる you can't see who said it, and 模様だ is the reporter's own reading.
