〜につきまして・〜にとりまして・〜におきまして・〜としまして/といたしまして・〜に関しまして (~ni tsukimashite / ~ni torimashite / ~ni okimashite / ~to shimashite (to itashimashite) / ~ni kanshimashite) — polite 〜まして forms of について・にとって・において・として・に関して
N3's について・にとって・において・として・に関して — with まして when you speak to a client.
Formula (सूत्र ढाँचा)
Grammar rule (व्याकरण नियम र परिभाषा)
When to use it
- The client asks on the phone 「納期はいつごろですか」(when is the delivery?) — you cannot answer at once: 「日程につきましては、後ほどご連絡いたします」— 'regarding the schedule, I will contact you later'.
- You hear them in customer mail, on the phone and in company announcements: 「本日1時より中央広場におきまして、抽選会を行います」「わが社といたしましては、ぜひ進めたいと考えております」.
Meaning
- When you need to speak politely, use the 「〜まして」form of all five: について・にとって・において・として・に関して.
- The meanings are the N3 ones: について/に関して = about, にとって = for (someone), において = in / at (place, time), として = in the capacity of.
How to attach
- について → につきまして (the verb is つく; never 「についまして」)
- にとって → にとりまして
- において → におきまして
- として → としまして or といたしまして (both are used)
- に関して → に関しまして
- は/も usually follows (につきましては・にとりましても).
Versus what you know
- N3These are the 「について」etc. you learned, with the て turned into 「まして」.
- N4You met 「〜まして」— the formal て-form, as in 遅れまして申し訳ありません; the same rule applies here.
Watch out
This is spoken / mail politeness — in a report, essay or article you still write について; まして looks odd there.
Also
In such polite talk the other parts of the sentence also go into ます-forms — 「まとめました資料でございます」「ご質問などがありましたら」「お元気になられますよう」.

Knowledge check (मिनी ज्ञान जाँच)
「発売の時期__、現在検討中でございます。」— fill the blank.
💡 Hint: The まして-form of について — from the verb つく.
について → につきまして (never についまして). 'About the release date' is a topic, so not にとって/において.
In which sentence is the まして-form unnatural?

In a report or essay with plain forms like 説明する you write について; まして belongs to polite speech and mail to clients.

として → としまして, and with する → いたす, といたしまして — both are used.
