    〜だの〜だの (~da no ~da no) — A and B and the like (fed-up tone)

The spoken list for other people's nagging or a messy pile, said with an 'ugh'.

    Formula (सूत्र ढाँचा)

    N N + だの + N + だの
    な-adj な-adj + だの + な-adj + だの
    Verb V普通形/V命令形 + だの + V普通形/V命令形 + だの
    い-adj い-adj + だの + い-adj + だの

    Grammar rule (व्याकरण नियम र परिभाषा)

    When to use it

    • Every time you call home, mother says 'get married soon', 'send more money'.
    • Fed up, you tell a friend: 「母は電話のたびに、早く結婚しろだの、もっとお金を送れだのと、うるさい」.

    Meaning

    • 「〜だの〜だの」= like Nepali '…re, …re' — it lists examples of what others say or do with a 'so annoying' tone.
    • The feeling is clearly negative: 「うんざり」(sick of it).
    • It mostly appears in complaints, other people's orders and lists of junk, followed by 「と文句を言う」「うるさい」「でいっぱいだ」.
    • For example: 「弟の部屋は紙くずだの空きかんだのでいっぱいだ」(my brother's room is full of scrap paper, empty cans and what not).

    How to attach

    • Nouns and な-adjectives take 「だの」directly: 紙くずだの・不便だの — the 「だ」inside だの does the job, no extra だ.
    • Verbs and い-adjectives in plain form: 悪いだの・行かないだの
    • When quoting someone's orders, the command form goes straight in: 勉強しろだの・片づけろだの

    Versus what you know

    • N3「〜とか〜とか」is a plain list.
    • This lesson's 「〜やら〜やら」carries 'overwhelmed'; 「だの」is clearly fed up.

    Watch out

    • It is spoken language (話し言葉) — never in a mail to the 店長 or a formal notice.
    • The feeling is negative only — use it for a happy list (presents, fun) and people will think you are fed up; there you want 「や」or「やら」.

    Examples (उदाहरणहरू)

    母は電話のたびに、早く結婚しろだの、もっとお金を送れだのと、うるさい。

    はははでんわのたびに、はやくけっこんしろだの、もっとおかねをおくれだのと、うるさい。

Every time I call, my mother nags me: "Get married soon," "Send more money," and so on.

How it is built (कसरी बन्यो) 結婚しろ, 送れ = mother's orders (命令形) → 「だの」「だの」 directly → 「と」 closes the quote → then the irritation: うるさい.

    先輩は、掃除の仕方が悪いだの、あいさつの声が小さいだのと、毎日文句ばかり言う。

    せんぱいは、そうじのしかたがわるいだの、あいさつのこえがちいさいだのと、まいにちもんくばかりいう。

My senior does nothing but complain every day: I clean the wrong way, my greetings are too quiet, and so on.

    How it is built (कसरी बन्यो) 悪い, 小さい = the senior's complaints (い-adj, 普通形) → 「だの」「だの」 → 「と」 → then: 文句ばかり言う — a fed-up tone.

    りょうの部屋は、脱いだ服だの空きかんだので、足の踏み場もない。

    りょうのへやは、ぬいだふくだのあきかんだので、あしのふみばもない。

The dorm room is such a mess of clothes left lying around, empty cans and whatnot that there's nowhere to step.

How it is built (कसरी बन्यो) 脱いだ服, 空きかん = N → 「だの」「だの」 directly (no extra だ needed) → 「で」 gives the reason → then the exasperated result: 足の踏み場もない.

    Knowledge check (मिनी ज्ञान जाँच)

    Question: 1/3

    「弟の机は、ゲーム_マンガ_でいっぱいだ。」— fill the blanks.

    💡 Hint: The fed-up 'and… and…' that attaches straight to a noun.
