Formula (सूत्र ढाँचा)
Grammar rule (व्याकरण नियम र परिभाषा)
Meaning
- 「〜にとって」shows whose viewpoint a judgment comes from: 「私にとって、家族が一番大切だ」= for me, family matters most.
- A person or organisation normally comes in front, and evaluative words like 大切だ, 難しい or 必要だ follow.
How to attach
Before a noun it is 「〜にとっての N」.
Versus what you know
N5It differs from 「〜のために」(for the benefit of): にとって = viewpoint, ために = purpose or benefit.
Watch out
Note that an action cannot follow — 「私にとって勉強します」is wrong.
