また・または・それとも (mata / matawa / soretomo) — also / or / or (question)

"Also", plus two kinds of "or" — one for statements, one for questions.

Formula (सूत्र ढाँचा)

S1。 + また、 + S2。

N1 + または + N2

S1か。 + それとも、 + S2か。

Three connectors, three jobs.
「また」= "also, in addition" — adding another point at the head of a sentence (written): 「彼は医者だ。また、作家でもある」= he's a doctor. He's also a writer.
「または」= "or" — offering options in a statement: 「電話またはメールで連絡してください」= contact us by phone or email.
「それとも」= "or" — in questions only, asking the listener to choose: 「コーヒーにしますか。それとも、お茶にしますか」= coffee, or tea?

In speech, 「あと」and 「それと」add "and also".

Note — または in statements, それとも in questions.

How it is built (कसरी बन्यो) Two options → または in between → it's a statement, so not それとも.

コーヒーにしますか。それとも、お茶にしますか。

How it is built (कसरी बन्यो) A question → それとも → another question → the listener is asked to choose.
