〜と…た・〜たら…た〔発見〕 (~to ...ta / ~tara ...ta) — when I did ~, I found
A special use of N4's と/たら — what you found or what happened when you did it.
Formula (सूत्र ढाँचा)
Grammar rule (व्याकरण नियम र परिभाषा)
When to use it
たら in speech, と more in writing.
Meaning
- With a past tense (〜た) after 「〜と」or 「〜たら」 the meaning shifts — a discovery, what you found or what happened when you did it: 「窓を開けると、雪が降っていた」= when I opened the window, it was snowing.
- 「家に帰ったら、母が来ていた」= when I got home, my mother was there.
- What follows is not your own choice — it is what you saw or what occurred.
Versus what you know
- N4You learned 「〜と」and 「〜たら」as conditionals at N4 (「押すと、開く」).
- N3Lesson 8's 「〜たところ」is the written version of this.
