〜との・での・からの・への N (~to no / de no / kara no / e no N) — particle + の before a noun
"A talk with the teacher", "life in Japan" — の that hooks a particle onto a noun.
Formula (सूत्र ढाँचा)
Grammar rule (व्याकरण नियम र परिभाषा)
Meaning
- Particles like と, で, から, まで and へ cannot sit directly before a noun — の must come between: 「先生との話」= a talk with the teacher, 「日本での生活」= life in Japan, 「家族からの手紙」= a letter from my family, 「日本への旅行」= a trip to Japan.
- This compresses a clause into a short noun phrase, so it is common in writing and headlines.
Watch out
Note — it does not work with が, を or に (「日本にの」is wrong); への stands in for に.
