〜ため(に)〔原因〕 (~tame (ni)) — because of
In N4 it marked purpose — here the same ため marks cause, mostly in writing.
Formula (सूत्र ढाँचा)
Grammar rule (व्याकरण नियम र परिभाषा)
When to use it
You meet it constantly in news and notices — think of it as a formal 「〜ので」.
Meaning
- At N3 the same ため also marks cause: 「事故のために、道が込んでいる」= because of an accident, the road is jammed.
- How to tell them apart? A dictionary-form verb in front and a deliberate action after means purpose
- a past form or a state in front and an outcome beyond your control after means cause.
How to attach
From the same root come 「〜ためには」(what is needed in order to) and 「〜ためにも」(for the sake of ~ too).
Versus what you know
N4「〜ために」marked purpose (「合格するために勉強する」).
Examples (उदाहरणहरू)
事故のために、道が込んでいる。
じこのために、みちがこんでいる。
Because of an accident, the road is jammed.
How it is built (कसरी बन्यो) 事故 is a noun → add の → then ために → what follows is a result outside anyone's control, so this is "cause", not "purpose".
雪が降ったため、電車が止まりました。
ゆきがふったため、でんしゃがとまりました。
Because it snowed, the trains stopped.
How it is built (कसरी बन्यो) 降る (to fall) → た-form 降った → add ため → it becomes a formal cause, in the style of an announcement.
合格するためには、毎日勉強しなければならない。
ごうかくするためには、まいにちべんきょうしなければならない。
In order to pass, you have to study every day.
How it is built (कसरी बन्यो) 合格する is the plain form → attach ために → add は to it and it becomes ためには → this stresses 'what you need for that'.
