V た-form + ら (V-tara) — When ~ / if ~
The safest of the four — it fits almost anywhere.
Formula (सूत्र ढाँचा)
Grammar rule (व्याकरण नियम र परिभाषा)
たら is the widest of the conditionals. Add ら to the た form — 着く → 着いた → 着いたら. For い-adjectives 安い → 安かったら; for な-adjectives and nouns 暇だったら, 休みだったら. It has two senses. **1) after ~ happens** (something certain): 駅に 着いたら、電話して ください. **2) if ~** (something uncertain): 安かったら、買います. **Its big advantage over と: たら can be followed by a request, an order, an invitation or a wish.** So when you are not sure which one to use, use たら — it is the least likely to be wrong.

Question: 1/3What is the たら form of 「終わる」?
💡 Hint: Make the た form first.
終わる → 終わった → 終わったら. ら attaches to the た form.
Which sentence correctly says "wash your hands when you get home"?
💡 Hint: Which conditional can be followed by a request?
After たら you can put a request, an order or an invitation. After と you cannot. ば does not work here either, because the first half is an action you do and both halves have the same subject. That is the biggest difference between と and たら.
