Conditional (ば form)
- 1 仮定形 kateikei If ~, then ~ The form that sets a condition — "if this happens, then that follows".
- 2 V dictionary form + と V + to Whenever you do this, the same thing happens For results that never change — machines, directions, nature.
- 3 〜ば、〜 ~ba, ~ If ~, then ~ If one thing happens, the other follows — joining a condition to its result.
- 4 V た-form + ら V-tara When ~ / if ~ The safest of the four — it fits almost anywhere.
- 5 N なら、〜 N nara, ~ If it is N / speaking of N Picking up the topic the other person just raised, then giving information or advice about it.
- 6 疑問詞 + 〜ば いいですか gimonshi + ~ba ii desu ka What / where / how should I ~? The pattern for asking for instructions at work — "what should I do?"
