い-adj 〜い → 〜さ (i-adj ~i -> ~sa) — Turning an adjective into a noun

高い → 高さ. The form you need every day at work for sizes and weights.

Formula (सूत्र ढाँचा)

い-adj drop the い
makes a noun
高さ / 長さ height / length

Grammar rule (व्याकरण नियम र परिभाषा)

Drop the final い of an い-adjective and add さ, and it becomes a noun: 高い → 高さ, 長い → 長さ, 大きい → 大きさ, 重い → 重さ, 広い → 広さ, 速い → 速さ. Once it is a noun it takes particles like は, が and を (高さは 3000メートルです, 長さを 測ります). Keep the difference clear: 高い means "tall / expensive" (an adjective), while 高さ means "the height" (a noun). いい is odd — it becomes よさ, never いさ. For a な-adjective, drop な and add さ (便利な → 便利さ). At a factory or on a building site you will hear 長さ, 重さ and 大きさ a lot.
