V た-form + ばかりです (V-ta + bakari desu) — Only just did it
The feeling that it only just happened — it still feels new to the speaker.
Formula (सूत्र ढाँचा)
Grammar rule (व्याकरण नियम र परिभाषा)
Adding 「ばかりです」to the た form means "I only just did it". To attach a noun it becomes 「ばかりの」— 買ったばかりの 自転車 (a bike I only just bought) — and to join a clause it becomes 「ばかりで、〜」. Now the big thing: 「た ところです」and 「た ばかりです」are not the same. 「た ところ」is objective — by the clock, only seconds or minutes can have passed. 「ばかり」is how the speaker feels — even three months later, if it still feels new to you, 日本へ 来たばかりです is fine. So 「三か月前に 日本へ 来たばかりです」is correct, while 「三か月前に 日本へ 来たところです」is wrong. Which to pick? If the clock really says a moment ago, use 「た ところです」; if you mean "it still feels brand new to me", use 「た ばかりです」.
