人を / 人に + 使役形 (hito o / hito ni + shiekikei) — Showing who was made to do it

The causative sentence — showing who had to do the work.

Formula (सूत्र ढाँचा)

人を verb without を
V 使役形 行かせます
人に verb with を
N を + V 使役形 食べさせます

Grammar rule (व्याकरण नियम र परिभाषा)

The hardest part of a causative sentence is which particle to put on the person. The rule is a single one: **if the verb takes no を, the person takes を** — with verbs like 行く, 帰る, 休む, 遊ぶ, 来る you say 子どもを 行かせます. **If the verb does take を, the person takes に and the thing keeps を** — with verbs like 食べる, 書く, 読む, 洗う you say 子どもに 野菜を 食べさせます. Why? Because を cannot appear twice in one sentence. Once the thing has taken を, the person has to move to に. This is the most tested point in the lesson, so the moment you see the verb, ask yourself: "does this verb take を or not?" The person in charge is marked with は: 部長は 私を 行かせました.
