When to use it
You hear it a lot at work: 「大変だ。それでも やるしか ない」.
Meaning
- 「それでも」joins two sentences: it accepts that what was just said is true, and then says the result still did not change.
- 「雨だった。それでも 行った」(It was raining. I still went.)
How to attach
It always stands at the head of the new sentence, never in the middle.

Watch out
- The danger: the word それでも itself is not rude, but the short sentences on this page (行った, やった, 疲れた) are casual plain-form ones — friends and same-age 同僚 only.
- With a 店長, a 課長 or a 先輩 you may still use それでも, but keep the sentence in です／ます: 「難しいです。それでも がんばります」.
