V はじめます / おわります / つづけます / だします (V-hajimemasu / owarimasu / tsuzukemasu / dashimasu) — Start / finish / keep on / suddenly begin
Starting a job, finishing it, keeping it going, and it beginning suddenly.
Formula (सूत्र ढाँचा)
Grammar rule (व्याकरण नियम र परिभाषा)
Drop ます and attach any of these four verbs to what is left — the same way ながら attaches. **はじめます** = start doing (you begin it): 読みはじめます. **おわります** = finish doing: 食べおわります. **つづけます** = keep on doing: 走りつづけます. **だします** = suddenly begin (outside your control): 雨が 降りだしました. Watch the difference between はじめます and だします — はじめます is starting as planned, while だします is something beginning suddenly and unexpectedly. That is why 降りだしました sounds more natural than 降りはじめました for rain.
