Meaning
- Use 「ながら」when one person does two things at once.
- The second verb is the main action.
- 音楽を 聞きながら 勉強します means studying is the main act and the music is going on alongside.
- Swap them and the meaning changes.
How to attach
Drop ます and add ながら to what is left: 聞きます → 聞き → 聞きながら.
Watch out
- Both actions must be done by the same person.
- You cannot use ながら to join what two different people do.
