V て います(習慣) (V-te imasu (shuukan)) — A habit — something done regularly
Not happening right now — something done regularly, every day.
Formula (सूत्र ढाँचा)
Grammar rule (व्याकरण नियम र परिभाषा)
「〜て います」does two jobs. One is an action happening right now (今 食べて います = I am eating now). The other is a **habit** — something done regularly or every day. 毎朝 六時に 起きて います = "I get up at six every morning". You are not getting up right now. Words like 毎日・毎朝・いつも tell you which meaning it is. It is also the form for a job: 銀行で 働いて います = "I work at a bank". 働きます would sound like a one-off act, so use 働いて います for your job.
