「し」stacks reasons or qualities — "it is this, and also that". Attach し to the plain form: 安い → 安いし, 静かだ → 静かだし, 来る → 来るし. から gives one reason; し gives several and hints that there are more. So even with a single reason, し sounds softer. The conclusion comes at the end: 安いし、近いし、この 店に よく 来ます. Sometimes the conclusion is left unsaid and only the sense of "so, you see" remains.

kono mise wa yasui shi, chikai shi, yoku kimasu.
This shop is cheap and close, so I come often.
今日は 天気も いいし、暇だし、公園へ 行きませんか。

The weather is nice today and I am free, so shall we go to the park?
この アパートは 駅から 近いし、静かです。
