V dictionary form / V ない + つもりです (V-jisho / V-nai + tsumori desu) — I intend to / intend not to

The pattern for a decision you made in your own head.

Formula (सूत्र ढाँचा)

V dictionary form intend to
V ない-form intend not to
つもり
です my decision

Grammar rule (व्याकरण नियम र परिभाषा)

「〜つもりです」says "I have decided to do this". Attaching it is easy: put つもりです straight onto the dictionary form (辞書形) of the verb — 帰る → 帰る つもりです. To say you intend NOT to do it, attach it to the ない-form — 残業しない → 残業しない つもりです. Careful: it never attaches to the ます form, so 帰ります つもりです is wrong. 〜たいです only shows a wish, while 〜つもりです shows a decision already made. It is about your own plan, so saying 「彼は 行く つもりです」straight out about someone else sounds a bit odd.
