〜かも しれません (~kamo shiremasen) — It might / may ~
There is a chance, but no certainty — "it might happen".

It attaches the same way as でしょう: straight onto the plain form of a verb or an い-adjective (降る → 降るかも しれません, 難しい → 難しいかも しれません), and drop だ for な-adjectives and nouns (病気だ → 病気かも しれません). The difference from でしょう is how sure the speaker is: でしょう shows the speaker is fairly confident, while かも しれません says "maybe, but I am not sure" — less than an even chance. So the weather report says 雨でしょう, but when you do not really know, 雨が 降るかも しれません is the safe thing to say. With friends it shortens to 〜かも しれない or just 〜かも.
