きっと / たぶん / もしかしたら (kitto / tabun / moshikashitara) — Surely / probably / maybe
Three words that show how sure you are, and the sentence ending each one pairs with.

These three words come near the front of the sentence and show your level of certainty. きっと is the top — the speaker is nearly sure, and it goes with 〜でしょう or 〜と 思います (きっと 来るでしょう). たぶん is the middle — "probably", and it also goes with 〜でしょう or 〜と 思います (たぶん 来るでしょう). もしかしたら is the bottom — "maybe, just possibly", and it almost always pairs with 〜かも しれません (もしかしたら 遅れるかも しれません). Matching the pair matters: もしかしたら 来るでしょう sounds odd, and きっと 来るかも しれません does not work either, because "surely" and "might" cancel each other out.
