〜たら どうですか (~tara dou desu ka) — Why not try ~?
Softer than ほうが いいです — it suggests, but leaves the choice to the listener.
Formula (सूत्र ढाँचा)
Grammar rule (व्याकरण नियम र परिभाषा)
Building it is easy: take the た form of the verb, add ら, then どうですか — 休む → 休んだ → 休んだら どうですか. It means "how would it be if you did this?". Here is the difference from ほうが いいです in the previous point: ほうが いいです points at one road and says "do this", while 〜たら どうですか says "here is an idea" and leaves the decision to the listener. So with a boss, an elder, or a stranger, this one is the safer choice. In casual speech どうですか shrinks to just どう?, but only with friends.
