Meaning
- If your hobby is an action like "reading books", turn the verb into a noun with こと, then です.
- 本を読む ──> 本を読むこと (the act of reading books) ──> しゅみは本を読むことです.
- Like the Nepali -नु ending in "पढ्नु", こと makes the verb a noun.
How to attach
As with ことができます, the verb is in 辞書形, then こと.
