🔒
「演奏が終わると、ホールは割れ___の拍手に包まれた。」— fill the blank.
💡 Hint:The form after 割れ (ない-form − ない) meaning 'as if about to split'.
Vない − ない + んばかり = an extreme state, as if about to happen. とばかり needs a quoted thought in front.
「彼は『もう我慢できない』___、部屋を出て行った。」— fill the blank.
💡 Hint:A thought in 『 』 comes before the blank.
Thought + とばかりに = not said, but shown in behaviour. んばかり attaches to Vない − ない instead.
「窓の外を眺める___眺めていたら、雪が降り始めた。」— fill the blank.
💡 Hint:The same verb twice — without intention.
V辞書形 + ともなく + the same V = doing it idly, without meaning to.
「犯人の母親は、記者の前で涙___謝った。」— fill the blank.
💡 Hint:The set phrase made with 涙.
涙ながらに = in tears (the state unchanged). ながらに only attaches to a few set words.
Which form criticises someone's bad tendency, softly, in writing?
💡 Hint:The formal 'has a bad habit' form.
きらいがある = has a bad tendency (stiff, written, about others). んばかり = an extreme state, まま(に) = as told, ともなく = without meaning to.
「十年ぶりに会った友人の___に、思わず笑ってしまった。」— which one means 'how much he had changed'?
💡 Hint:After 「の」and before 「に」— you need a noun.
Vます − ます + よう = the state and degree of what happened (a noun). 変わりように笑う = laugh at how much someone changed.
「店員に勧められる___、いらない物まで買ってしまった。」— fill the blank.
💡 Hint:After a passive V辞書形 — 'just as recommended, without resisting'.
V辞書形 + ままに = just as others said, without your own judgement. 〜てしまった shows the regret.
Which sentence is natural?
💡 Hint:とばかり about yourself? きらい for a good habit? Vる まま for leaving a state?
どこからともなく = from who-knows-where — correct. とばかりに is not used about yourself, きらいがある is not for a good habit, and 'left open' needs 開けたまま (Vた).
