〜はもちろん…も (~wa mochiron ...mo) — not to mention ~, also
"That goes without saying — but this too!"
Formula (सूत्र ढाँचा)
Grammar rule (व्याकरण नियम र परिभाषा)
Meaning
- 「〜はもちろん…も」says the first item goes without saying, and the second comes on top: 「漢字はもちろん、会話も練習している」= not to mention kanji, I'm practising conversation too.
- もちろん carries "that hardly needs saying", and the following も adds "and this as well".
- So the second item should be the more surprising or weightier one.
Versus what you know
N3「〜ばかりでなく…も」means the same and is a little more written.
Examples (उदाहरणहरू)
漢字はもちろん、会話も練習している。
かんじはもちろん、かいわもれんしゅうしている。
I'm practicing kanji, of course, and conversation too.
How it is built (कसरी बन्यो) 漢字 is a noun → attach はもちろん → then put the second noun 会話 + も → it means 'that goes without saying, and this too'.
この店は、味はもちろん、ねだんも安い。
このみせは、あじはもちろん、ねだんもやすい。
At this place, the food is good, of course, and the prices are low too.
How it is built (कसरी बन्यो) 味 + はもちろん → then ねだん + も → adding a second point makes the sentence stronger.
彼は英語はもちろん、中国語も話せる。
かれはえいごはもちろん、ちゅうごくごもはなせる。
He speaks English, of course — and Chinese as well.
How it is built (कसरी बन्यो) 英語 + はもちろん → 中国語 + も → the pattern fits because the second item is the more surprising one.
