Meaning
「〜において」marks a place, time or field, and stands where 「〜で」would: 「会議は東京において行われる」= the meeting will be held in Tokyo.
How to attach
- Before a noun it becomes 「〜における N」: 「日本における生活」= life in Japan.
- It also works for fields: 「この分野において有名だ」.
Watch out
