Meaning
To quote a command exactly as given, attach 「と言われた」to the command form: 「店長に『早く来い』と言われた」= the manager told me, "Get here early." This also conveys the speaker's harsh tone — useful when complaining or telling a story.

Besides 「と言われる」, 「と怒られる」and 「と注意される」also work.
