どうやら〜らしい/ようだ (douyara ~rashii / you da) — it seems, from the look of things
Piecing the clues together — "it does seem that way".
Formula (सूत्र ढाँचा)
Grammar rule (व्याकरण नियम र परिभाषा)
Meaning
- 「どうやら〜らしい/ようだ」draws a conclusion from the clues you can see: 「どうやら道を間違えたようだ」= it seems we've taken the wrong road.
- どうやら carries "not certain, but everything points this way", and N4's らしい or ようだ must follow — another fixed pair.
How to attach
- 「〜みたいだ」in speech.
- 「どうも」means the same, a little vaguer: 「どうも風邪をひいたらしい」.
Watch out
そうだ (looks like) does not work here, because どうやら is inference, not direct appearance.
