Meaning
「〜方」means the way of doing something.
How to attach
- Drop ます from the verb and add 方 — 使います → 使い方, 書きます → 書き方, 行きます → 行き方.
- It attaches at the same point as the earlier ones that drop ます (〜すぎます, 〜やすい).
- Once attached it is a noun, so it takes が / を / は: 使い方が わかりません, 書き方を 教えて ください.
Watch out
- The trap: a verb that normally takes を switches to の in front of 方 — 漢字を 書きます, but 漢字の 書き方.
- And for します the word is 仕方（しかた）, not し方: 料理の 仕方.

使い方が わかりません = I do not know the method — an everyday sentence at work. 使いにくいです would mean "it is hard to use", a different meaning.
