まだ + 肯定 (mada + koutei) — Still going on
まだ does not always mean "not yet" — in a positive sentence it means "still".
Formula (सूत्र ढाँचा)
Grammar rule (व्याकरण नियम र परिभाषा)
Many learners think まだ only means "not yet", but that is its meaning in a negative sentence. **In a positive sentence まだ = still** — the action or state is still going: 雨が まだ 降って います (it is still raining), まだ 忙しいです (I am still busy). **In a negative sentence まだ = not yet**: まだ 食べて いません (I have not eaten yet). The big trap sits here — for "have not done it yet" you need 〜て いません, not 〜ませんでした. Saying まだ 食べませんでした is wrong. The opposite word is もう: もう 食べました (I have already eaten), もう 降って いません (it is not raining any more).

Question: 1/3Which sentence means that you have not eaten yet?
💡 Hint: Here まだ has to pair with the negative form.
まだ with 〜て いません = not yet. 「まだ 食べて います」 means you are still eating, and 「もう 食べました」 means you already ate.
Which correctly says "I am still working"?
💡 Hint: In a positive sentence まだ = still.
まだ + 〜て います = it is still going. With もう it would mean the work is finished.
「もう 宿題を しましたか」— which correctly says "not yet"?
💡 Hint: Not 〜ませんでした.
For "not yet" you need まだ + 〜て いません. まだ しませんでした is wrong.
