Meaning
To ask "how?" — by what method, which route — put どうやって before the verb: 学校へどうやって行きますか (How do you get to school?).
How to attach
The answer uses で from Lesson 5 and the て-form: 駅まで歩いて、電車に乗って行きます (I walk to the station and take the train).
Versus what you know
Do not mix it up with どう (how is it?) from Lesson 8 — どう asks for an opinion, どうやって asks for a method.
