Putting 前に after a length of time (one hour, three years) means "___ ago." Here you do NOT use の — just say 「一時間前に, 三年前に」directly. This differs from the noun pattern N の 前に.
Examples (उदाहरणहरू)
一時間前に、ごはんを食べました。
ichijikan mae ni, gohan o tabemashita.
I ate one hour ago.
三年前に、日本へ来ました。
sannen mae ni, nihon e kimashita.
I came to Japan three years ago.
二日前に、この本を買いました。
futsuka mae ni, kono hon o kaimashita.
I bought this book two days ago.
