Making a guess and asking for confirmation.

Formula (सूत्र ढाँचा)

Verb V普通形 + でしょう

い-adj い-adj (〜い) + でしょう

な-adj な-adj [だ] + でしょう

N N [だ] + でしょう

でしょう is the guessing form of です — "probably". Intonation separates two uses:
(1) Falling tone = a guess — 明日は雨でしょう (It will probably rain tomorrow); what you hear in the weather report.
(2) Rising でしょう？ = "…, right?" seeking agreement — おいしいでしょう？ (Tasty, isn't it?)

Plain form before it, but with nouns / な-adjectives だ drops: 雨だでしょう ❌ ──> 雨でしょう ✅.
でしょう is itself a form of です, so だ is not repeated.

明日は雨でしょう。

あしたはあめでしょう。

It will probably rain tomorrow.
