「と」joins two nouns with "and." Example: パンとたまご (pan to tamago) = "bread and egg." It gives a complete "and" that lists all the items. Important: と joins nouns only — it cannot join sentences or verbs.

pan to tamago o tabemasu.
I eat bread and eggs.
おちゃと水を飲みます。
