Meaning
- To join two nouns with "and", put と between them: パンとたまご (bread and eggs).
- It implies the list is complete — these and nothing else.
Watch out
と joins nouns only; it cannot join two sentences or two verbs (the て-form does that later).

パンとたまごを食べます。
パンとたまごをたべます。
I eat bread and eggs.
