どんな N (donna N) — what kind of N?
A question word asking the kind or quality of a noun.
Formula (सूत्र ढाँचा)
Grammar rule (व्याकरण नियम र परिभाषा)
「どんな」always sits right before a noun and asks "what kind of" that noun. The pattern is 「どんな + N」. Examples: どんな車ですか (donna kuruma desu ka) = "What kind of car is it?", どんな人ですか (donna hito desu ka) = "What kind of person is it?" 「どんな」cannot stand alone — it always needs a noun.
Examples (उदाहरणहरू)
あの人はどんな人ですか。
ano hito wa donna hito desu ka.
What kind of person is that?
どんな食べものがすきですか。
donna tabemono ga suki desu ka.
What kind of food do you like?

Knowledge check (मिनी ज्ञान जाँच)
Question: 1/3How do you ask "What kind of car?" (車 = car)
💡 Hint: どんな + N.
どんな車ですか — どんな before the noun.
「どんな」always needs a noun after it. Which sentence is correct?
💡 Hint: どんな + noun: どんな車, どんな食べもの.
あの人はどんな人ですか is right. 「どんな」cannot stand alone before です, and you never add の after it.
Fill: 日本語は_ですか。("What is Japanese like?" — there is no noun after it)
💡 Hint: 「どんな」needs a noun, 「どう」does not.
日本語はどうですか = "What is Japanese like?" 「どう」stands alone before です. 「どんな」only works with a noun: どんなことばですか.
