N(目的語)は (N (mokutekigo) wa) — Marking the object with は
は in place of を or が — when that thing is the topic, or is being contrasted with others.
Formula (सूत्र ढाँचा)
Grammar rule (व्याकरण नियम र परिभाषा)
Normally an object takes を, and words like 好き・上手・ある take が. But when that thing is the topic of the talk, or is being contrasted with something else, を/が drops and は takes its place. Example: コーヒーを 飲みます (neutral) → コーヒーは 飲みます (coffee, at least, I do drink — implying something else I do not). を and が disappear, but particles like に・で・へ stay and become には・では. は shows up a lot in negative sentences, because a negative usually carries a contrast.
