Explaining Reasons & Polite Requests
- 1 〜んです ~n desu Explaining a reason or situation Not just stating a fact — adding the "why" or the background behind it.
- 2 V て-form + いただけませんか V-te itadakemasen ka Could you please ~? Much politer than てください — the request you use with a boss or a customer.
- 3 疑問詞 + V た-form + ら いいですか gimonshi + V-tara ii desu ka What / where / how should I ~? The pattern for asking someone for advice or instructions — "what should I do?"
- 4 N(目的語)は N (mokutekigo) wa Marking the object with は は in place of を or が — when that thing is the topic, or is being contrasted with others.
