は(対比) (wa (taihi)) — は setting two things against each other

This one is like this, that one is not — は used twice.

Formula (सूत्र ढाँचा)

A
〜ますが、 but
B
〜ません

Grammar rule (व्याकरण नियम र परिभाषा)

は can show the difference between two things. The shape is simple: A は ~ますが、B は ~ません. Put は on both sides and join them with が (but). Even without the second half, は hints that something else is different — お酒は 飲みません suggests "alcohol I do not drink (other things I do)". は shows up a lot in negative sentences, because a negative usually hides a contrast. を and が drop and は replaces them; に・で・へ stay and become には・では.
