〜ですか (desu ka) — is it …? (question)
The easiest way to turn any sentence into a question — add か at the end.

Meaning
- In Nepali we ask a question by raising our voice: "विद्यार्थी हो?"
- In Japanese you add か at the end of the sentence instead.
How to attach
- Nothing in the word order changes: 学生です (is a student) ──> 学生ですか (is … a student?).
- Because か itself is the question mark, Japanese writing does not even need "?".

Answer with はい (yes) or いいえ (no).

How it is built (कसरी बन्यो) 学生です (is a student) ──> remove nothing ──> [ + か ✅ ] ──> 学生ですか (are you a student?).
